American Motel Hotel Brokers Network, one of America's top four Lodging and
Hospitality Brokerage networks, reported today that according to the Smith
Travel Research's STAR report during week of May 18 - 24, lodging occupancy
in America was at 66.9% with average room rates holding at $108.27.
Occupancy compared to same week last year was down 2.5%; yet, the average
room rates for the week compared to last year was up a hefty 4.2%.
Kisty Mauren, Associate Broker and Lodging Specialist, at American Motel
Hotel Brokers of Arizona and a veteran of the industry since 1976, noted that
"Wednesday and Thursday continue to be the highest occupancy and average
room rates nights of the week".
